Submitted by IgLou1 on Wed, 05/13/2009 - 12:55The Attorneys General from Illinois, Connecticut, and Missouri have apparently talked Craigslist into making some significant changes to its Erotic Services section—like closing it down and opening a new adult section of the site that will be closely monitored. It's going to be tough to stop prostitutes from scuttling off to less-moderated parts of Craigslist.
He's got the whole world, on a string
Submitted by IgLou1 on Tue, 05/12/2009 - 14:01Erik Bendl of Louisville has the world in his hand, or at least on a string.
Actually, the world is a giant rubber globe connected to a glorified dog leash similar to the other one he holds in his left hand, which is connected to his Rhodesian Ridgeback-Bullmastiff mix named Nice. With his right hand, Bendl rolls and guides a 60-pound rubber globe along the road, dodging everything from cars to trash to other dogs.

Rejigger the Julep: Derby Day's Bourbon-Mint Elixir
Submitted by IgLou1 on Wed, 04/29/2009 - 13:25THE KENTUCKY DERBY is famous for blink-and-you'll-miss-'em traditions: a two-minute horse race and the mint julep, a drink resigned by most to once-a-year toasts. Love it or hate it, the storied blend of bourbon, mint and sugar has been saddled to the state's blue-blood culture since before thoroughbreds ran for the roses in Louisville.
